On June 4, 2011, the Sugar Thieves traveled to Coloma, CA to play the Coloma Blues Live! festival. Even though there was a spot of rain, we had an awesome time performing and the crowd of die-hard blues fans was engaged and energetic throughout our set.

Afterwards, we had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hang out backstage with Mr. Taj Mahal himself and discuss the history of blues music, the state of blues today, and what life is like for someone who has reached legendary status. He put on an awesome and inspiring performance, and we’re grateful to the El Dorado Arts Council for putting together such a great show and including us. We can’t wait to return to Northern California to shake their meat all over again!
